CFDA announces nominees for 2010 awards, in New York

The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) voiced the nominations for the 2010 Awards, at a accepting hosted by Nadja Swarovski, and the CFDAs Diane Von Furstenberg, in New York last night. (Thursday)

Marc Jacobs, Donna Karan, and Alexander Wang are the nominees for Womenswear Designer of the Year, whilst Marcus Wainwright and David Neville, the dual Brit boys at the back of Rag & Bone, and Michael Bastian, are up opposite Tom Ford for the Menswear title. Alexis Bitter, Proenzo Schouler and Marc Jacobs have been nominated for the Accessory Designer of the Year award.

The model, singer and entrepreneur, Iman, who is tied together to David Bowie, was selected for the Fashion Icon Award.

The endowment winners will be voiced at the annual CFDA gala, underwritten by Swarovski, at the Lincoln Centre, New York, on Jun 7th.
